Privacy Policy

1. Purpose of this Policy
This privacy policy explains how I, Georgia Meredith, collect and handle personal information submitted through this website. I’m committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that any information you share is treated with care, respect, and in line with UK data protection laws (UK GDPR).

This policy covers information collected via this website only. If we begin working together, I will provide a separate Counselling Agreement outlining how your data is handled within the context of therapy.

2. What I Collect and Why
There are two forms on this website:

A. Initial Enquiry Form (on the "Work With Me" page)
This form helps me understand your needs and decide whether I can ethically offer support or should signpost you to a more appropriate service. It asks for:
-
Full name
-
Pronouns (optional)
-
Email address (for me to contact you)
-
Whether you are aged 18+
-
How you would like to work (online, in-person, both)
-
A brief reason for seeking counselling
-
Whether other services are involved in your wellbeing
-
Whether you are currently experiencing thoughts of harm (to self or others)
-
Whether you are currently concerned about your safety
This information is used solely to assess the next step: either arranging a reduced-fee initial session, or offering a referral. Once client proceeds, their information is securely added to their Konfidens client file and will no longer need to be retained in Zoho Mail.

B. Contact Form (on the "Contact" page)
This is for general enquiries only and collects:
-
Full name
-
Email address
-
Message
This information is used to respond to questions or requests for further information. Contact form submissions may remain in Zoho Mail for record-keeping if you do not become a client. They are not added to Konfidens.

3. How Your Information is Stored
Form submissions are stored securely within the Wix platform and, in the case of initial enquiries, transferred to Konfidens for my client management. Submissions are also sent to my secure business email (Zoho Mail) temporarily for processing. Only I have access to this data, and it is never shared with third parties unless required by law. Personally identifiable information (PII) protection is enabled for both forms.

4. Data Retention
-
If you submit a form but do not go on to work with me, your information will be retained for up to 12 months, then securely deleted.
-
If you become a client, your data will be stored in Konfidens for at least 3 years, in line with best practice. Further details will be provided in your Counselling Agreement.
5. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
-
Access the personal data I hold about you
-
Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete data
-
Ask for your data to be erased, where appropriate
-
Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable)
-
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data rights have been violated
To make a request, please email: contact@georgiameredithcounselling.co.uk
6. Cookies
This website uses cookies through the Wix platform. You can find more information about the use of cookies in my Cookies Policy.
7. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
